Hi,

I don't have an experience letter from my previous employer. I only have an offer letter and salary slips for reference. I am not able to show this experience, causing a gap of 8 months in my employment. Can I say that during these 8 months, I was searching for a job and was not working, or will there be any problem during the background check?

Please reply.

Hi Abhi,

If you have worked in the previous organization for 8 months, I think you should show this work experience. Since you do not have the experience letter, you can send an email to your reporting boss on the official ID. Take the printout and give that to the HR along with the reply on the same email as acceptance from your boss. You can get a relieving letter if you are not absconding from work.

Hi Sunita, I have a similar case wherein I lost the appointment and experience letter from an employer where I worked for almost 2 years. When I visited the company premises, I found that the company is now closed. Should I include this in my resume? I have no proof for the same. Should I also show that I was looking for a job during this tenure, as these 2 years were after I completed my graduation?

if you have a epf account you can get the certificate from the epf office stating your service with the present employer though you the employer fails to give you the experience certificate
