There is no issue for taking scheme certificate for 4 years service. But since she is already 54 and if she gets an employment also at this age, she may get another 4 years' service totally 8 years which is again short of 2 years to get pension. Therefore, there is no meaning in opting for scheme certificate.
At the same time, there is an advantage of pension to family in case of unfortunate death of the member holding a scheme certificate. In other words, if the PF and Pension fund are withdrawn she ceases to be a member of PF and in such case if something happens to her, her family will not be getting anything. At the same time, if she is holding scheme certificate, she will get get withdrawal benefit now but she can withdraw the penson fund at the time of retirement and in case of any unfortunate things happening to her, her family will get pension.
