Hi Friends,

I need some clarification on PF withdrawal. I switched companies when my PF transfer process was in the middle. Now, my first employer has approved the transfer to the second employer, but it is pending with the second employer. Due to the portal being down for many months, they were unable to proceed.

I have since switched jobs again and am now with a third company. How should I proceed with this transfer? Please guide me.

Thanks & Regards,
Asupathy

If the second employer did not approve the same within 15 days of your claim filing, it got rejected automatically. You can check your passbook(s) and apply for a transfer with manual forms submission, duly attested by the present employer.

However, if all three accounts in a row are linked with a single UAN, then you don't have to worry, as the present system of EPF is not employer account number-based but UAN-based, and claim settlement will also be UAN-based.

Dear sir,

I left my previous company and joined the new one. My new company opened my PF account with the same UAN number. So, if I do not withdraw that amount, will it automatically transfer to my new account, or do I need to initiate the process? If I do not withdraw that amount now, what will happen? Will I still be able to claim it, or will it lapse?

Regards.

Right now, the EPF is UAN-based, and the balance accumulated from both companies is deposited in the same UAN. If your UAN is KYC compliant (specifically, PAN, Aadhaar, and bank are digitally verified by both employers) and nomination is filed with EPFO, then you have nothing to worry about. Withdrawal is not possible unless the employee has been unemployed for 60 days after leaving the job.

However, if any employer has not completed KYC, then submit Form 13 in physical form duly attested by the present employer for the transfer of the account to the present employer's code. Keep the UAN always KYC compliant; this will help the member operate the EPF account like their own bank account without the endorsement of the employer.

Hello sir,

One more question I want to ask is, for example: if I leave this company after 1 year or 6 months, and I want to withdraw the amount, will I get the whole amount from this company or also from the previous company as it is deposited under the same UAN?

Regards.

make the UAN KYC compliant then you can claim the whole amount from UAN irrespective of numbers of employers
