Hi Team, I have recently joined a startup company and have a query related to salaries. We recently appointed a temporary office boy in the month of April just for a month as the old office boy was on leave. Since the old office boy was rejoining on Monday, we asked the temp office boy to stop coming to the office from Monday, and hence I processed his salary from the 1st of May till the 15th of May. Kindly note that we work 6 days a week, and Sunday is a day off; hence, I calculated and paid Sunday salary as well.
Please suggest, as per the policy of the shop and establishment or general salary calculation, should the salary be paid till Saturday, the 14th of May, or Sunday, the 15th of May? Was I wrong in paying that 1 day?
Thank you.

The Minimum Wages Act specifies that every employee is entitled to receive full payment for a day of weekly off for every 6 days worked, computed at the rate due for working days. So yes, you are required by law to pay the office boy for his Sunday weekly off.
And therefore you have done right.
