Dear All,
This is Deena. I have completed M.Tech in Industrial Safety Engineering and have over 3 years of experience in a well-reputed Indian corporate (construction industry) organization as a Senior Engineer in EHS & Compliance.
Regarding my future plans, I have two views:
1. I wish to develop my career in a field other than construction in East Asia.
2. I wish to work as an academic professional, as a professor.
Please advise me on how I could achieve my future plans.
Regards,
Deena

Dear Deenadayalan,
If you have worked in the well-reputed construction industry as a Senior Engineer EHS & Compliance, why not capitalize on that experience and handle higher-level assignments? Our Prime Minister has given a big thrust to the development of rural infrastructure. This only shows that there will be a huge demand for the construction industry in the future. Therefore, you have great career opportunities ahead. Whether you avail yourself of those or opt for the safe havens of academia, the decision you make needs to be prudent. Please conduct a merit and demerit analysis for each option.
As a word of caution, I recommend that you work on improving your English. Whether you work as a professional or an academician, a command over English is a prerequisite. Your 76-word post contains grammatical mistakes that are hardly expected from a post-engineering graduate. It is high time to enhance your English skills; otherwise, this fundamental factor may hinder your growth in the future.
Thanks,
