I am working for a Ltd. company since 2012. The company, as standard practice, has been deducting PF. However, when I downloaded my E Passbook from the EPFO website in Oct 2014, I found that:
1. For the first year of service, the employee and employer contributions are deposited correctly.
2. In the 2nd year onwards, though the right deduction of PF contribution has been done from my salary (mentioned in salary slips), only 5% of it, along with the corresponding company contribution, is being deposited into my account.
3. I immediately approached my HR department and management, including senior management, pointing out the anomalies. They replied, stating that due to an error in the company system, the PF numbers were interchanged with another employee, causing this issue.
4. They informed me that they have taken the matter up with the appropriate authorities; however, the corrections have not been made, resulting in a significant financial loss for me.
5. Lately, the company HR person has been avoiding responsibility and does not seem interested in resolving the issue.
My question to this forum is, what steps should I take as an employee to get this matter corrected?

Please raise the grievance online in the EPF portal Home Page. Mention that the amount in the member passbook does not match the salary slip or the amount deposited in your account by the company. The EPF authorities will then start an inquiry to resolve the issue.
Earlier, some companies wouldn't pay the full EPF amount by showing less attendance of an employee to reduce the burden. However, now everything is transparent online, and no one can cheat employees. Therefore, proceed to raise the grievance in the EPF portal or submit a written complaint addressed to the Assistant PF Commissioner at your PF regional office.
Thanks
