What is the minimum salary for freshers in the IT industry (MCA/B.Tech) in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh (Urban area)? I heard that there is a minimum salary that companies should provide.

Minimum Wages Compliance for Freshers
What if MCA or graduates are paid less than the preset government minimum wages by check? Is that a violation of the minimum wages law? What about if paid in cash?
This is absurd. These freshers are available for less than Rs 8000 as they need their first break and don't add much value to the job. Why is a firm forced to hire them at a higher salary?
Thanks,
Sneha

Understanding the Minimum Wages Act
It's very simple. The Minimum Wages Act was created to prevent firms like yours from exploiting employees/workers. Just because they need experience does not mean you should pay them below subsistence levels. If they are not adding value to your job, then why hire them?
In any case, there is no option but to pay the minimum wages, preferably by cheque. If you pay in cash and the employee claims you haven't paid, then you have a significant problem on your hands.
