Hi All, Can anyone help me with what needs to be done in the following case? I have submitted all the forms related to the PF, and it is currently under process. The bank account I provided has been closed without prior notification. In this situation, how will I receive my PF amount? Will it be through a cheque, or will they hold my PF? Should I contact someone to update my new bank account details? If so, whom should I contact?

Please provide me with some possible answers to resolve my query, which would be most helpful.

Thanks,
Sheik M

Yes, if your bank account is not active, the fund will not be transferred to you. However, you can seek the help of your employer (HR personnel) and your Bank Authority in this regard.

Addressing the Issue of Inactive Bank Accounts

Before proceeding further, I feel there was something wrong on your side because, at the time of applying for withdrawal, you must have taken care of these things and shared your active bank account details. It seems you forgot this, which has put you in this problem today.

Secondly, for your information, no Bank SB account can be closed without prior information or intimation to customers and account settlement. Therefore, you need to visit your bank personally to know the status of your bank account. If it is true that your account is inactive, maybe it happened due to no transactions (unused accounts) being registered by you for a long time. However, banks must have intimated you (which you may have missed completely) about the final settlement and closing of your SB bank account or the need to use it again, as it is also important for them to maintain a relationship.

Steps to Reactivate Your Bank Account

If you find your bank account is not active now, you must reactivate it immediately by following the guidelines provided by the bank in this regard and also need to carry your cheque book issued by the bank along with the other ID proofs.

This is a simple and quick solution to your problem.

To all members: Please use your active SB accounts for EPF withdrawals and follow the guidelines by the EPF office properly in this regard.
