Go to any big job portal and search for job postings for the position of CFO by companies or consultants. There will be very few postings on any portal regarding this, but you will gain much-needed insight. From there, you can easily figure things out.
Some of the work a CFO typically does includes:
- Consolidation of Balance Sheets
- Leading a team of Chartered Accountants
- Preparation and audit of transfer pricing data and submission of TP returns
- Preparation and finalization of Balance Sheet & Profit & Loss Account
- Handling FBT, VAT, BPP, DTC Audit, Advance Tax calculations, and planning
- Ensuring compliance with all accounting standards
- Liaising with banks and financial institutions
- Conducting project appraisals, renewing C.C., and preparing and submitting CMA, QIS & QMR
- Involvement in strategic finance and corporate finance
- Understanding implications of mergers, takeovers, etc.
- Maintaining accounts and stock records
