Hi, I want to promote the employee satisfaction survey in my company. We want more and more people to be a part of it, so please suggest some ideas on how we can attract all employees to be involved. We generally make posters and send out mailers, but we need to be more innovative this time. Please advise.

Your point is well made. People show reluctance to take up surveys. While it is a good idea to be voluntary, there has to be an indirect pressure. After issuing a call, you would normally get a response. About 60% respond. Congratulate those who participated (without mentioning names) and conduct a second program after a few days. By this time, a majority would have responded. After a couple of days, call one final round to get the maximum/100%.

Dear Heta Patel, Congratulations on this initiative. I thank our experts and leaders for contributing such brilliant techniques. Here's my question to you: Suppose you find a long survey questionnaire at the end of your workday. You know your response can bring a change to your organization. Yes, your response is valued, which is why the form has been given to you. However, what are the top three triggers that you will have in your mind for skipping the action or giving a half-hearted response? I suggest you ask this to everyone while promoting employees' buy-in to this initiative. Wish you all the best!

Congratulations on taking the initiative. For an employee survey to be successful, maintaining confidentiality is crucial so that employees feel comfortable participating. Therefore, not only should you ensure confidentiality, but you should also communicate how confidentiality is maintained to all employees.

One way to ensure that all employees participate is to invite them to the boss's chamber, allowing them to take the survey confidentially. This way, they will not carry work with them. You may invite them in small numbers and sit back to offer clarification on any points if requested by any. At the end, thank them with a chocolate and send them a thank-you mail without fail. If the manager or boss can be a part of the thanking process, even better. Once all of them have taken the survey, post striking results as a poster in strategic locations. This can be made interesting by using emoticons, catchy phrases, and visual aids such as charts and graphs as encouraging results are revealed. It will offer a chance for the employees to understand how they have been able to contribute.
