I am looking for a new job and have recently received an offer from a company to work as a contractor at one of their clients for 3 months. This company is a recruitment firm, and I will be working on their payroll at the client's location.

Company Registration and Background Verification

The company is not registered with the Registrar of Companies (ROC) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), but they have good clients, and people have previously worked on this company's payroll. A friend of mine suggests that if I later change jobs to join a multinational corporation (MNC), they may check whether my previous company is ROC registered. Is this true? Will this affect my background verification?

Please advise.

I am afraid I am very late to reply. But for background verification, we don't check for company ROC registration. We get the following checks done:

1. Your check from HR of your last company about your tenure with them.
2. Your manager's reference checks against a few parameters related to your performance and interpersonal skills.

Do let me know if I have answered your question or if you have any other queries.

Isha Nanda
