Dear Safety Professionals!
Could you please answer the following questions regarding Fire NOC / Fire Licence?
1.When a FIRE NOC is to be taken by an industry? Before /During/ after construction/Before starting operations /During operation?
2.What AP Fire Service Act says, with regards to NOC for an industry?
3.Is the NOC for construction or for running an industry?
4.How long the NOC is valid? For ever or time bound?
5.If an extra production block is planned? Again NOC is reqd?
6.What about running industry – whether the Fire Dept give NOC for operation?
7.Without fire NOC, can an industry run legally? If no, why? Which act or rule demands for it.
8.What is fire licence? To which it apply.
9.Is the licence is valid for ever? Or time bound?
10.What actions fire services dept. can initiate on industries as per act? If do not have NOC or Licence. Any cases of such actions?

Dear All,
Fire NOC required after installing of all fore prevention and Protection devices by calculating fire loads.
this Fire NOC given by the Qualified Chief Fire Officer after audit (Fire Emergency Services) and it is Renewal every year.There is no any legal requirement but taking offsite Emergency facility it is required.

Hi,
You referred Fire Act.
The Fire NOC is required while you seek permission for commencement construction.
This is applicable only for the new constructions after Fire Act was in force.
Industry has a choice to comply to Fire Act provisions for the construction before Fire Act came.
Once the NOC is taken, it has to renewed after every 6 months.
The AP local Industrial Development Corporation would not issue completion certificate if FIRE NOC is not taken, and this can become problematic in case of any fire or accident.
Proactively it is better to comply to all provisions.

2. See your State Fire Services Act. We have to follow NBC of INDIA norms.
3. See Q1 Answer
4. NOC has to be renewed annually.
5. We have to add with the Existing facility and go for Inspection.
6. Fire department will issue NOC for Existing installations too.
7. NOC is mandatory as per “ AP Fire Services Act” please go though the link AP Fire Service Dept.

10. Court case may lead to Fine and prison…. Based on the Severity Closer notice of Industry.
