Dear Sunny,
You could have given basic information about your hospital like:
a) Number of beds
b) Number of wards
c) Number of doctors on a roll
d) Number of doctors on a visit
e) Total number of floors of your hospital
f) Total number of medical equipment in your hospital
g) What is the capacity of the AC (Air conditioning system)
h) How many DG sets you have
and so on. Without this information how is it possible to give information of any kind.
I recommend you visit the nearby hospital and meet HR. Obtain the information from them. At the beginning just copy their manpower planning. Later on, you can always to some plus or minus.
Thanks,

well, you got lot of constructive inputs!

YOUR QUERY IS MANPOWER PLANNING FOR A HOSPITAL.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONE OF MOST EFFECTIVE WAY OF DOING MANPOWER PLANNING FOR ANY HOSPITAL IS TO KEEP THE NUMBER OF BEDS AS YOUR BASIS.

WELL, IT IS NOT SO EASY AT IT SOUNDS..... INFACT, MOST OF THE ADFINISTRATORS/HR IN HOSPITALS FIND IT A CHALLENGE TO FIND OUT MOST APPROPRIATE EMPLOYEE: BE RATIO....

HOWEVER, YOU NOW NEED TO HAVE BASICS DETAILS :

NUMBER OF BEDS

(BEDS IN WARD, ROOMS, TRIAGE, EMERGENCY, ICU, OT'S ETC)

TYPE OF HOSPITAL : IS IT A TERITIARY HEALTH CARE CENTRE OR A LARGE CORPORATE HOSPITAL

SERVICE STANDARDS : IS IT A LARGE CORPORATE HOSPITAL, GIVING 5 STAR LEVEL SERVICE & INFRASTRUCTURE

TYPE OF CLIENTILE

THESE WILL BE GUIDING FACTORS....

YOU THEN NEED TO DISCUSS WITH YOUR RESPECTIVE HOD's

IMPORTANTLY

I. NURSING TO WORKPOUT BED : NURSE RATIO FOR ROOMS, WARDS, HDU, ICU, OT's, TRIAGE, EERGENCY...

II. DOCTOR : BED RATIO ( HERE I MEAN PAYROLL DOCTORS, NOT VISITING CONSULTANTS. YOU NEED TO ASCERTAIN DOCTOR : BED RATIO WITH ANALYSIS FOR ICU, CCU, NICYU, PICU, OT's, WARDS, TRIAGE, EERGENCY.... THESE ARE MAINLY RESIDENT DOCTORS, REGISTRARS, SR. REGISTRARS, JR. CONSULTANTS, CONSULTANTS WHO ARE ON REGULAR PAYROLL OF HOSPITAL

THEN BBASED UPON BEDS, TYPE OF SERVICE, TYPE OF CLIENTILE, REVENUE YOU NEED TO WORK OUT STAFF RATIO FOR HOUSE KEEPING, CSSD, F&B SERVICE, OPD, IPD, ADINISTRATION, FINANCE, ACCOUNTS, GENERAL WORKERS, HR.....

Yes Sonny.........
I think above is the best document to solve your problem.According to this you have to design the manpower requirement...........
and one thing you add and confirm how many segment they used to establish like medicine ward, ortho... , pediatric..etc from the management.Accordingly you analysis the manpower requirement ....
