Dear Seniors,
I am an HR Trainee in one of the manufacturing industries. Only 2 years ago, the Department of HR was initiated. Since then, ESIC has not been followed in our organization. Due to pressure from our primary employer, we are now forced to start ESIC. We have a large number of interstate migrant workers. The problem we are facing is obtaining their family photos for the final ESIC procedure. Can you seniors help me with any suggestions on how to address this?

Dear Yashwanth,
If the worker is having his family with him where he is currently working, then they can get their family photo at the ESIC regional office. If they don't have their family or they are interstate migrant workers, there is no use of their family photograph because their family cannot avail this facility. So, in this condition, we should cover the worker only under the ESIC ACT.
Plz. correct me if I am wrong.

Dear Yashwant,
You can only paste the employee photo on TIC (it is not compulsory to paste the whole family photo), then the whole family has to go to the local ESIC office for photograph and fingerprints record. Once an employee gets an ESIC card, it can be used anywhere in India. But if family members cannot go to the local office, then family members will not get the benefit. So, there is no need for a family photo. Just paste the employee's photo and send.

Dear Yashwant,
If the worker has his family photo with him, there is no need to go to the ESIC office with the family. The worker alone can go, take his photo, and paste his family photo in the place provided in the temporary identity card form. Even then, all the family members of the workers will get the ESIC benefits. After getting the ID card, the worker can use it throughout India.
Note: The family members will only include those persons which come under the schedule as per the ESIC Act.

Dear all,
For how long is TIC valid? In our construction industry, workers do not go to EISC (BO). Is it mandatory for the worker to visit personally to obtain a permanent card? If the worker affixes a family photo but the family cannot go in person, will ESIC coverage be provided to the family or only to the worker?
Please clarify.
