Can somebody tell me that the earned leave encashment calculation will be done by basic+da or by gross wages.
Basic+DA or Gross wages /26*no. of PL
Another question is that Overtime calculation will be done by basic+DA or by Gross wages.

Dear Vikas,
As per law, the EL to be encashed on Basic + DA, its compulsory for the purpose of compliance.
now if we talk about the EL encanshment, its depend on company policy, means very company to company, if an employer want to pay on gross salary then he can, our minimum requirement to follow proper compliance is (Basic + DA).
In the organizations, most of us encash on Basic + DA only, the detail of calculation is as under:
Basic+DA[/I][/B][/B]/26)*no. of PL[/U] or if on Gross then (Gross Salary/26)*no. of PL

EL Calculation
(Basic+DA/26)*no. of PL
(10000/26)*10=3846
Over Time Calculation:we calculate it on Gross Wages, to be calculated on month days to be paid double
OT Calculation= ((Gross Salary/month days)/working hours))*Number of OT hours
