Please could someone help me. I need a letter asking my manager for a transfer to one of our other day home's, i work with challenge behaviour clients. Where i am based is so far from where i live and they have homes for our clients within my area where i live. I don't know what to say which would help me get a transfer near to where i live. Please help me.
I really love my job but it is based so far from home. If anyone could please send me an example letter this would mean so much to me. Much appreciated.
As i can not do much shifts as i would like to as the driving back and forth is really to much for me.

Dear Nancy,

The rough draft of the letter could be as follows:

Date: -

To,

The Managing Director

_______ (name and address of your company)

_______

Request for Job Transfer

Dear Sir,

1. I have been working in ______ (name of your company) as _____ (your designation). Right now my place of posting is _______ (name and address of your business unit).

2. I learnt that there is vacancy for the post of ______ in _____ (name and address of the business unit where you wish to get transferred). Therefore, may I request you to transfer to the this place? I ask for this transfer as I stay in ______ (name of your area) and daily I spend considerable amount of time in commuting for my job. If you could transfer me to ______ (name and f the business unit where you wish to get transferred), I will be able to give more time for me and my family as my commutation time will reduce considerably.

3. I will be obliged to you if you could effect this transfer as early as possible.

Thanking you.

Yours faithfully,

________ (your signature)
