Dear HR Friends

The Central Govt. is planning comprehensive changes to the Factories Act 1948 – draft notification enclosed. Pl. go through the draft – self-explanatory with the current section and gives the proposed amendment with the justification or reasons. Views to be sent to Central Govt. within 45 days. Some points include that factories employing 200 workmen to provide canteen as against 250 strength now; PL entitlement; providing rest room; permitting lady workmen to work in night shifts under certain conditions etc.

Alphonse

Thank you sir.....lets pool our expertise and evolve a progressive act.

Each Inspector and the hierarchy there are of actually high professional qualification.
But they are all used for procedural Inspection only!
In BEE depart/Ministry, the top Director there engages with Suppliers and arranges seminar with Industry/Factories where ideas are shared back and forth on the issues and challenges and technological improvements.........No such interaction or official guidance is colelcted or allowed to the Inspectors by the ministry!!!

Lets push/comment on these draft for such open / supportive / productive roles from this deaprtment so that future life in a factory is SAFER, PRODUCTIVE, COMPLIANCE FRIENDLY AS WELL AS EASIER TO MANAGE THE PLETHORA OF REGISTERS/ RECORDS/FILINGS/FORMATS THAT AREOFTN REPETATIVE IN SOME FORM OR THE OTHER.

Ofcourse, it is undeniable that if laws were less strigent, we would have rarely followed safety or right of the workers as compelled to current levels.

Lets us all take responsible roles.
