Hi,
Recently, I interviewed with HDFC Bank, and based on confirmation from the HR and Cluster Manager, I was selected for the position of BH. Following instructions from the HR, I completed the Offer Letter Requisition form and submitted it along with my Salary Slips. However, it has been 9 days, and I have not received any further updates regarding the offer or confirmation from the relevant team.
Meanwhile, my current company's Boss has become aware of this situation and has already chosen a replacement for me. The pressure to leave my current job is increasing, and the prospect of an alternative still seems distant. I am feeling confused and helpless. Please provide guidance.
Thank you.

Hi SSangma,
As you have mentioned that you got selected for the post of BH, and also you had filled up the Offer Letter Requisition form and sent it along with my Salary Slips, why don't you call the HR of HDFC Bank to get it confirmed about your joining date if you have really been selected? You can also request them to expedite the process.
About your current job, I just need to know whether you have resigned or not. If resigned, then there is no need to worry! If not, then after confirming from HDFC HR, go ahead and serve the required notice period to avoid any issues in F&F. Don't panic about your current job. Your boss cannot ask you to vacate the place whenever he wants, I mean against the company rules, and anyhow you have to serve the notice period before leaving this company to get all your relevant documents such as experience letter, relieving letter, etc.
Wishing you all the best! :-)

OK. Thanks very much, Sandyk.
Do you have any idea about how long HDFC Bank generally takes to generate the Offer Letter? The HR team from HDFC has confirmed with me but also mentioned that it may take some time. My problem is that I have to resign on the 30th of this month, and if I do not receive the Offer Letter from HDFC soon, I will have to stay idle, which I cannot afford. Since the offer letter is pending, I am feeling doubtful, and this situation is quite confusing. I hope I am through? Thanks.

Sangma,
There are two points in your case:
1. Ways and means to receive an offer letter from the prospective employer.
2. Pressure to make a decision to quit the current employer.
1. You have no control over the uncontrollables. What I mean is, the employer might ask you to fill out application forms, request salary slips, etc. But there is no guarantee that you will be issued an offer letter. Unless you receive an offer letter from them, your job at HDFC is not certain. Perhaps you can contact them or send an email to find out the status. That is the maximum you can do. No one can predict an organization's internal system. It might take a week or so, or it might take a month. Sometimes, they might decide to choose another candidate; we can't say.
2. Obviously, the current employer will need to look for a replacement if you suddenly resign. It appears that you have not effectively communicated your intention to leave to your current employer. He is proactive and has already hired a suitable replacement. You have become redundant. Look for a department change if possible within the organization. Start searching for a job elsewhere immediately before you are left without a job.

Hi,
Thanks. I just received the CTC breakup today, and I have accepted it. However, I was informed that the Formal Letter is still pending. Does this mean that I am confirmed?
Additionally, in the CTC acceptance email, it mentioned the Certification of NCFM & NISM Depository Module. Does this imply that I need to obtain certification first, or is it mandatory? Please provide guidance on this certification as I am not very knowledgeable about it.

Hey people,
I also received an offer from HDFC with CTC breakup before 15 days, and then haven't heard back from them. Please let me know if any of you have received any response. Any idea about approximately how long they usually take?

Hi! Now that I am already working, I could say that HDFC Bank takes too much time for the real appointment. There are people who got the Appointment Letter after 6 months also... However, since you have received the salary breakup, you must confirm it to HR that you accept and your Offer Letter will be out... God knows when? But it surely will. In the meantime, concentrate on your present business... All the best.

Hi Sangma,
This is Sweta here. I am facing the same problem that you had with HDFC. I got selected as a PB in HDFC. It's already been one month, but they did not give me the offer letter yet. The HR person confirmed to me verbally that I am selected as a PB, though I have submitted all the required documents.
The thing is that I have already resigned and refused other job opportunities. I am a bit confused about what they are actually doing. Please suggest to me what I should do in this scenario.

If you have contact details of the HR person, you can directly contact them.. There is no harm to ask for the status once you are shortlisted...

Sometimes, it will happen like this. Why? Because the person who is going to leave has not finished their previous tasks. Therefore, management is waiting until the pending work is completed. The management does not want to assign pending work to a new person or have the resigning employee withdraw their resignation. Consequently, management will approach you with a new set of responsibilities. It is advisable to go and meet with the HR person to understand the exact reasons behind these changes.

Hi friends,
I am Jothi. I completed my B.Tech in IT recently and planned to join HDFC Bank. I approached the nearby branch, and they started helping me. They said that I need to take an aptitude test in Chennai. I went there and cleared the exam. The HR also sent me a confirmation email stating that I have passed the test.
However, it has been a long time, and there has been no response. What should I do?

Well, to be honest with you, I joined HDFC in 2011, and I have seen the worst recruitment process. I completed the interview process and received confirmation that I was selected, but I did not receive the offer letter within 30 days. I kept calling HR, but there was no answer. After 30 days, I finally received my offer letter.

Hi, my name is Roohi. I have been verbally confirmed about my selection as PB. HR called and told me that they will appoint me as a fresher since I have just completed my MBA. I have prior experience of 6 years in a bank. Why are they counting me as a fresher? Will they consider my last salary? I am confused. When I get a call for salary negotiation, how can I negotiate better? Please help.

Hi,
I am also facing the same issue with HDFC. I recently interviewed with HDFC and received an email from HR titled "Extend Offer." The email clearly stated that I have been selected for the position of Personal Banking and included a salary breakdown. However, they mentioned that it is not a formal offer letter. I responded to the email accepting the offer as requested. I am still awaiting the official offer letter. When I reached out to HR, they only mentioned that they will get back to me without providing any further information. I am in a dilemma about whether they will contact me or not. If anyone is experiencing a similar situation, please help.
Thank you,

Dear All,
They also need to verify your certificates such as 10th, 12th, and graduation from a third party, which may take some time depending on how fast the third party completes their tasks. Therefore, you may need to wait for about a month.

I am also facing the same issue with HDFC Bank. I got selected for an interview. After a week, I received the salary breakup. I have accepted the offer via email. Subsequently, I uploaded all the required documents on the HDFC portal. Two representatives from HDFC visited my place for house verification. I completed the necessary form and submitted it to them. Following this, they requested a confirmation email ensuring the accuracy of the data submitted on the portal.
However, it has been 20 days since then, and I have not received any updates from them. Consequently, I reached out to HR via email, and they informed me that it would take an additional week. As of now, I still have not received any feedback from them. I am uncertain whether I should continue to wait or explore other opportunities. I am genuinely eager to join HDFC. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
As they have advised you to wait for another week, please wait. Every organization will have various processes in recruitment and selection, like document verification, BGV, approval from higher officials, etc.

I have already waited for a week, but still no reply from HDFC HR. God knows when their recruitment process will complete.
If anybody has received a final offer letter from HDFC, or do they only entertain candidates like this?
