Dear Seniors,

Recently, I have joined a manufacturing company as an HR professional, having previously worked in the IT industry. Here, I am responsible for working with statutory compliances under the Tamil Nadu Shops & Commercial Establishment Act.

Some examples of statutory compliances include the Safety Act, Contract Act, Overtime Act, etc.

I kindly request your assistance in sharing your valuable knowledge regarding the registers that should be maintained under the Tamil Nadu Shops & Commercial Establishment Act. You can reach me at udaihr@gmail.com.

Please note that there is no Safety Act or Overtime Act. However, in the Factories Act, these provisions are mentioned. For your reference, I am enclosing the TN Shops and Commercial Establishment Act forms list.

Thank you for sending the valuable notes on Acts. I will apply all of them in my routine activities. Here, safety measures are crucial as it is a manufacturing sector, so please do share any relevant articles.

Also, could you explain what IR stands for?

Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

Please help me with a query. I had recently purchased a commercial shop which has a floor mill (Chakki) in it. The floor mill (Chakki) is not running properly, and I am planning to clear the shop and give it for rent.

My questions are:
1. What permissions do I need to take if I want to run another business rather than my current business (Chakki) floor mill?
2. I think I need to apply for a Gumasta License if I am operating another business.
3. If I obtain a Gumasta license, what about my floor mill license? Will it be canceled? Please help.
