Hi all,

I am currently working on a project of Gap analysis between an employer and employee. I need some real-life examples that may have occurred between you and your employer or within your organization. It would be a real help if you could write a few lines on the same.

Thanks in advance,

Akruti :)

Hi Akruti,

Can you please explain what exactly you are looking for and what results you are looking to achieve? Maybe I can provide you with some examples if I can understand your dilemma clearly.

Hi Akruti,

I was asked to prepare a questionnaire and distribute it among employees. Then, see from their point of view what they are currently performing. After that, prepare an organizational chart to identify what's lacking and which positions need to be filled.

I hope this is fine.

Hi,

The gap, if you look deeply, is all due to communication, or rather, the failure of it, preconceived notions about the people, reluctance to see reason, and generation gap.

As per Maslow's hierarchy of needs, if you are satisfying a person's Esteem needs where his physiological needs are to be satisfied, then there is bound to be a gap.

In my last company, we were doing software development, a sector under pressure for margins. So we entered a new sector of Staffing. The employees were quite pampered, and cash flow was not an issue. Initially, there was war, and only after some free flow of information could I make the employees realize. Had I not used communication, it would have been a disaster.

There is a person I know who is very good at logic building but thinks that whatever code he has once written, there is no need for checking quality. Every time his software produces bugs, and then he goes back and removes them. He is not willing to see reason.

I rate communication gap to be the prime culprit, and not always management is at fault as it is a two-way process.

Hope it serves some purpose for your survey.

Cheers,

Sandeep

Hi all,

I am doing my summer internship in the telecom sector. I am working on gap analysis to improve the induction process of the company and to measure the satisfaction level of the new joiners for the induction provided to them.

I want to know how to implement the gap analysis for the same. If I design the questionnaire, what questions should I include to judge the satisfaction level? Please help, I am very confused.

Please, seniors.
