Dear All,

We want to survey the satisfaction level of our employees, so I need help on how to start at all levels. Please suggest a questionnaire for:

1. Manager Level
2. Engineers Level
3. Workers Level

The main aim is to find out the satisfaction level of employees towards their Head of Department (HOD) and the Company's policies.

This is urgent, so please suggest.

Thanks,

Prem

Hi Prem,

If you can provide some specific details, I will be able to work out a questionnaire for the survey as I work for one of the leading market research companies.

Details Required:

1. Type of company (Service/Manufacturing, etc.)
2. What is the product your company deals with?
3. Who are your typical customers?
4. Organizational structure.
5. Does your company work in shifts? If so, details of shifts.
6. Office timings.
7. Duration of the breaks provided, like coffee break, lunch break.
8. Facilities provided to the employees.
9. Appraisal method followed by the company.

If there are any more details you think are important, please include them.

If you provide me with all these details, I would require one day to work on the instrument/questionnaire. You can get in touch with me over the phone or email if you require any other info.

Hi Prem,

I go with what Naveen has to say.

Firstly, you need to assess how you would conduct this survey. You will have to understand the culture of the organization and the HR initiatives and engagements the organization has taken for their employees. The age group, attrition level, employee benefits, etc.

You may then ask the HR to provide you with the list of employees in all the three categories. At random, pick up some employees and based on the initial information gathered about the organization and the work culture, you would have to prepare different sets of questionnaires for the three categories. Derive a score pattern, wherein you will be able to generate your report.

There are hoards of employee engagement survey guidelines available on the net. You will have to study them and probably understand whether you could match these with the organization you are conducting the survey with.

You also have the Gallup employee survey (famous 8 questions) to which you can refer and arrive at your questions.

I did this exercise during my internship with a manufacturing setup. You may come back for any clarifications.

At the end of the survey, I also went a step ahead defining the level of performers, i.e., A, B, and C performers, and gave suitable recommendations to the management on my survey.

All the best.

Regards,
Priya

Hi everyone,

I am working on my dissertation in HR. My research focuses on the internal customer satisfaction levels that impact external customer satisfaction. Specifically, I am investigating the relationship between HR practices, organizational commitment, and employee satisfaction within the hotel industry.

If anyone could suggest websites or resources that may assist me in my research, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
