A few queries on Provident Fund:

1. How does one know whether the funds from the earlier organization have been transferred to your PF account with the current employer? Is there a statement that will show such transfers?

2. I have rejoined an organization where my earlier PF account still exists. Is it possible to continue with the earlier PF account, or do I have to open a new PF account with the new date of joining? Can I seek a transfer from the old account to the new account?

3. My PF administration with the current employer is in a state of mess. Instead, can I get confirmations of transfer from the PF office directly?

More information: I reside in Mumbai, and all transfers are within the PF office.

Hi, dear,

Firstly, I want to inform you that you can continue with your previous PF account. Please inform your new organization that your earlier PF account number is xxxx. There is no need to open a new account.

If you want to confirm whether your PF fund has been transferred to your PF account or not, you can take two simple steps:
1. Obtain your PF account number and then check your PF account statement online.

Thank you.
