dear shimit,
with my little knowledge, i feel Industrial relations is not that area where you can apply the theoretical knowledge to maintain good or harmonious employee relations in the industry. It requires your common sense in un common situation to handle the situation. And your past tricks may not work next time it depends upon the IR officer individual capacity and it will varies from individuals. And no theory will recommend a SOP for maintain good industrial relations.
Further we cannot bench mark / copy one industry’s practice to another.

We regularly conduct public programs on Industrial Relations and this program is conducted by Harsh Kumar Sharan (XLRI Alumnus).
We have scheduled a program on "Disciplinary Action & Enquiry Procedures" at New Delhi.
Another program which is scheduled for August 2010 is on "Employment Related Laws for Effective Day-to-Day Functioning.
