I would like to present on the current attrition rate industry-wise, different techniques of calculating attrition, retention strategies, and talent management. Can anybody suggest a source from where I can get the data about attrition and techniques of calculating attrition?

Attrition can be calculated in multiple ways. The simplest method is the number of resignations in a year divided by the total headcount at the beginning of the year. A more realistic approach is the number of resignations in a year divided by the average of the headcount at the beginning and end of the year. Alternatively, you can calculate attrition by dividing the number of resignations in the year by the sum of the headcount at the beginning of the year plus the recruitments in the year.
