Hello all,
I am a newbie to HR and I would like to know about the HR growth pattern. What are the different levels or positions that one can attain in HR? I also wanted to know the ideal time that one would take to reach each level.

Could not understand what you want to ask. Is it about the growth of HR or HR personnel?

It is like any other department, having positions from HR Assistants to VP-HR or Director - HR, depending on the type of industry and size of the company. As for the ideal time for each level, it again depends on the structure of the organization. Ideally, a person should get a promotion every 3-4 years (shorter period in some industries). Better-performing individuals get promotions much faster. So, what might be ideal for me might be too slow for somebody else and too fast for some other person.

Hey, I think the HR manager can also be promoted to become a Factory Manager. It did take place at GPI... (don't know how or why). Maybe it's an exception, but I guess it's possible in small family organizations.

Hello all,
I've just joined a retail company as a summer intern, but I'm still confused about the growth prospects of HR. Will it pay me well in the long run? I've seen IT companies pay more to HR professionals, but I've also heard a lot of people saying there's hardly any growth in it. How true is it?
Thanks
