Ok Sachet,
Here is what I am working on...
I have joined a BPO which is relatively new (5 years old) and like a few other BPOs, we have a few issues here like:
  1. Attendance - We have a Biometric System (Finger Print Reader) for the attendance purposes and the Management wants it to be the final basis for marking the attendance of the employees. Now since this is a new system at our office, we are facing a lot of issues regarding the salaries. The salaries are being deducted for agents because their attendance is not marked on the Biometric. I need to know if someone can help me manage the Biometric in a better manner.
  2. Salary - I need to know if there is a good payroll software where we can process salaries for 400 - 500 employees. Possibly a plain package with minimum or no cost (online)
  3. Induction Manual and HR Handbook for a BPO required - As a sample so that I can work on ours
Thanks

I thought people helping each others in forum like this can enlighten a lot of other people than replying to just humurous posts. Common frenz, this is good HR stuff to help each other...

Well with regard to best practrise in BPO sector... U could formulate around the following:

An employee is working during nite hours, he is completely away from family and frens. . this creates loneliness and feeling of being detached. But u can conduct some fun sessions on Friday evenings that leave them energetic and happy.
Once in a quarter - u could take them for a JLT (Just Like That) - probably for trekking, or lunch together in a 5 star Hotel . . this makes them feel that they are having enough time for themselves too.
Once in year u can have Family Day wherein all family members are invited for a programme . . .the employees can take part in competition and participate in family involved game activities.

Then reg Health:
Its common to lose the appetite for good food after working in nite shifts. . . so u can make arrangements for availability of Nutritious food in teh canteen. avoid junk food - becos ppl tend to love on it. They dpnt eat anything in the morning and jus come and have a burger or a pack of lays to fill their stomach b4 work. So - make sure nutritious food is available

Have a good work culture beign practised. Let them be very professional in their approach to BPO (u very well know - we need to be PERFECT to survive in BPO - u cant play around. Gone are those stories where BPO means just fun. . . it is not so!)

I have spoken of things other than wat u asked for (like payroll. . . biometric management. . . but I feel this must also be taken care of) :)
