Creche Facility in Factory
As per the provisions under Section 48 of the Factories Act, 1948, any factory employing 30 or more women workers is required to provide creche facilities for the use of children under the age of 6 years for the women employees.
Is there any ratification required for the same?
Thanks,

Here, the number of children of women workers is not counted. In the Plantation Labour Act, the number of children of women workers is also a criterion. When the number of women workers decreases from a figure of 30 to something less than that, you cannot take away the creche from the factory. This is as per the Act. However, the implication of this provision is that in its absence, this welfare matter will be completely ignored by the employer.
