24th April 2014 is Election Day in Mumbai. Under Bombay Shop & Establishment, does it need to be treated like a compulsary paid holiday (like Independence Day / Republic Day) ? Or does the organisation have the option of giving half day / late coming?

Dear Zmon
i am surprised at your query. even a layman who watches TV or reads newspaper is aware about it.
Are you an HR professional or an employee working in other deptts. ??
In both the cases, if you are an eligible voter, you should make yourself aware about the govt. notifications.
As already advised, please go through the govt. notifications on this; which must be complied with.
Hope you will not have any more doubts. and treat the matter seriously without suggesting such alternatives as half day/late coming etc.
Regards.
