I have received an offer from a new employer. They want me to join them within one month period.

I have talked with manager and HR of my existing company and they have agreed to accept my resignation. But the issue is that they want me to serve the full notice period of two months which is not possible for me. I have requested them to allow me to serve one month notice period and I will pay for the other one month.

Following is the relevant wording from the offer letter of my current employer:

"As per organization policy, the probation period applicable to you shall be 30 days. During probation, the analyst needs to provide a 7 day period of notice. After probation, the analyst needs to provide a minimum of 2 month period of notice. Failing to provide the period of notice can lead to the firm withholding and/or demanding the salary of 2 months from the employee."

As it is clearly mentioned in the offer letter the employee can pay for the whole notice period. I am willing to serve for one month and pay for one month then I don't know why are they not allowing me to do the same.

They have not yet given any written response to my resignation mail.

Please help me with the future steps I should take so as to properly leave my current employer and join my new role.

What options are available to me?
What should I discuss with my would-be employer as they need the exact joining date (max one month time), resignation acceptance letter, and relieving letter?

Thanks.
