Hi is Sick leave is mandatory one in a company to provide its employees? In my company I don't see this component in my leave structure. Also there is no paternity leave.
Can you please let me know about the above leaves and weather they are mandatory according to the law?

Dear all,
My company provides 6 sick leaves in a year.
Are we entitled to avail these sick leaves proportionately over the span of an year.
Or, can we avail them within 4 or 5 months if we are not well?
Kindly guide me over this..

Dear Neha,
If these sick leaves are granted to you under any of the labour law then you have to go through that provision for the procedure & entitlement of sick leaves & if the management is providing these leaves under any of the Rules/ policy framed by them then you have to go through those Rules regarding your query.

Dear Member,
Until & unless we do not know which of the Act(s) is/are applicable to your company for grant of different leaves we can not tell you that whether sick leaves are mandatory or not. We do not have any labour law which provide us paternity leaves.
