Hi!
It depends entirely upon your interest - whether you would like to be a generalist or take up a specialist role in recruitment.
I personally feel that Generalist role is more interesting and provides opportunity to learn, grow and develop in a lot of other areas in HR. However, I have friends who are specialists in Recruitment with good IT companies and find that role very exciting.
So, my suggestion is that think about what you want to do later in life and not take up what others force you to. Ofcourse you should take suggestions from friends and seniors.
Cheers!
Nikita

Dear Sunil Kumar

As far as my knowledge goes, the core functions of the HR are more valuable functions and creates skills and expertise on you. If you jump to Recruitment branch,it will only confined to the recruitment functions. The HR core functions inclusive of Recruitment. If you want to develop your skills in HR, you can retain as HR Generalist.

Every body must improve his skills in his present assignment to enrich knowledge and power. Then only you will succeed in any career. By the bye, financial reasons are also there. If your present position is satisfactory in terms of salary and perks, you can continue. If you were offered with higher emoluments in the Recruitment job, you can jump into that taking into accout the salary part. Whatever may be the reason, but one thing you shoud keep in mind that enrichment of knowledge and skills are possible in any field which will be conveniently handled by us. Simply because of change of the assignment is not the creteria. We have to observe so many factors to change the Assignment. You will be the best judge for change of your assignment taking into account the factors, circumstances, position, Managerial capabilities etc. As a matter of fact others may not aware of the situations you are facing in your present assignemnt. What needs you to change the assignment is the factor for consideration for you. If you fee it is better to jump over to Recruitment divisiion, think it over once again taking into account the various factors, not only financial, but also other personnel and various reasons, and then take a decision to jump from the present position.

Dear Sunil,
I think u should stick in HR generalist profile. You are become a HR manager. As a hr manager we should know core HR rather than recruitment. Recruitment is a part of HR.
My suggestion is that you should search HR generalist profile. Best of Luck

Dear Sunil,
Please think logically. If you do not want to learn and want to get stuck in recruitment then you should join. Recruitment job from a consultancy is mundane. There will be no scope left for you if you join consultancy.

You can do better as a Generalist. What are your functions in the present assignment? It also may be limited to recruitment, placement, training, career planning. You may not be handling, IR, Welfare, Performance Appraisal, salary admn. statutory matters etc. Specialise in Labour Laws also. You will get better offers.
