first of all company will apply for registration under contract labour act .
company will deposit requsite fee for this purpose .the registration form and challan of deposited fee will be deposited for registration.
after getting registration contractor will apply for licence and security will be deposited through challan as per number no of employee.
than contractor will get licence from labour dept.

To be more specific first finalise the issue of appropriate government i.e. Central or State in r/o of the company where the contractor have undertaken the work for the principal employer. If State Govt. then we are to go through those State C L (R&A ) Rules for getting knowledge on the procedure for obtaining a contract labour licence. In general we are to apply to the declared Licensing Officer of the area in Form IV in triplicate (application for licence) along with required licence & security fees as prescribed under the State/ Central Rules. Attach copy of the R C & Form V a certificate to be taken from the P E. Application is to sent by regd. post or it should be delivered personally.

Printed copy of challan is ordinarily available at civil courts / tehsil office/book-sellers etc. It will be better to approach your area labour office for getting details on the head of account for security/ licence fees deposit & for other connected details.

If the company has centralised registration at one location (generally Head office) under CLRA, can any Registering Authority (ALC/RLC) refuse to issue licence locally by asking to take local registration at his office.
