As you say they are freshers,.... Your interview could be more theoritical and behavirol than practical..

Some of the questions that came in my mind:
  1. Tell about yourself
  2. Recruitment cycle and understanding of all stages
  3. Different sources for sourcing and what does he think which one is the best...
  4. Idea about the demand and supply of Human capital in the market
  5. choice between selection between two candidates as an example
  6. questions on patience because that is more needed during the joining period
  7. What does he know about the company, this shows how better he can pitch about the company and how he has prepared for the interview
There might be more and more questions depending on the answers... You can also check his initiativeness and ownership skills in his academic career..

And one more suggestion,,, your question should have been... what are the skills one must look for in a fresher for a recruiter position rather than what are the questions..

Anyways all the best..
Wish you get the right candidates.

Please dont ask this question "TELL ABOUT YOURSELVES"
This question is really not a question of a good HR.
Be very specific on what you want to know of him and questions that suits the positon. You know questions better.

Hello,
Good Job Naveen!
Apart from the above questions, kindly focus on the following too:
In times of recession, how do you think HR can be value adding? What are the areas you as a fresher can contribute for the betterment of the process?
How is the recruitment industry performing? Have you done any research on the same?
Can you brief about the Performance Management system that you have learnt, and which one do you think will be the best to implement.
Thanks

Hi PHardeep,
If you are the interviewer - please ask the question " Tell me about yourself"
If you are the candidate:
Please prepare for this question, becuase your self image, your background, confidence about self and passion for the job will be gauged in this.
