HI,
i m working for a small backoffice company... total number of employees are 125.
please tell me how to tackle late coming and absentism issue..
we have policy that 3 latemarks are allowed and on 4th latemark - half days salary gets deducted... but still ppl come late.
as asn HR what action can i take..please suggest..

Dear Aarti, Change the policy and make it as, three late comings = 1 CL if any body comes 3 times late in a month then deduct one Casual Leave. 6 times= 2 Cl and so on.

COMING ON DUTY AT THE TIME OF ORGANISATION REQUIREMENT IS TO BECOMMUNICATED TIME TO TIME GIVING DUE CARE TO DISCIPLINE. IN TIME COMING AND RIGHT TIME LEAVING THE WORK IS THE SIGN OF GOOD ORGANISATION AND IT IS THE STRENGTH OF THE COMPANY. THUS NO LIBERTY CAN BE GIVEN TO ANY ONE OF THE EMPLOYEE WHO EVER HE / SHE MAY BE AND ALSO MAY HOLD WHATEVER POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION.

EVERY ONE OF THE COMPANY EMPLOYEES GETTING PAY FOR THE TIME OF DUTY ATTENDED AND WORK DONE BY HIM / HER. NO MERCY IS SHOWN OR TAKEN IF DONE THROUGH ACCESCONTROL AND ATTENDANCE MACHINE. THATS WHY LARGE NO OF INSTRUMENTS ARE PLACED AT ENTRY GATE SO THAT SMOOTHLY FREE FLOW ATTENDANCE IS MARKED .

SIMILARLY ABSENT EMPLOYEES DATA ARE CLLECTED FOR NOTIFYING TO THEM. WHILE POLICY IS FRAMED OR AS PER STANDING ORDER OF THE COMPANY ATTENDANCE MACHINE IS INSTRUCTED.

THUS THERE IS NO HASSAL IN HR PROCESS AND CLEAR CUT POLICY IS TI BE FOLLOWED. KEEP NOTIFYING THE LATE COMERS AND SEND IT TO THE MANAGEMENT WHO IS THE AUTHORISED PERSON TO FOR APPOINTING AND TERMINATING, ISSUEING WARNING ORNOTIFICATION AS PER POWER OF ATTORNEY GIVEN BY MANAGEMENT TO DO SO.

WHAT EVER THE REMARKS IS DONE SHOULD BE COMMUNICATED TO THE CONCERN EMPLOYEE AND GET HIS SIGNATURE DONE AS READ AND RECEIVED THE WARNING NOTICE WHO IS ASKED TO REPLOY WITHIN 48 HrS.

NOW YOU MAY HAVE MANY QUESTIONS THAT THIS OR THAT MAY HAPPEN BUT BE SURE YOU ARE GOING TO ESTABLISH THE DISCIPLINE IN THE ORGANISATION AND KEEPING THE RECORD INTACT AND ALSO HR DEPARTMENT VERY LIVE.

SORRY TO SAY THE STATE OF AFFAIR OF YOUR ORGANISATION SEEMS VERY IMPROPER.

Best way that we implemented in our company is to deduct Rs.100 on every late coming from day 1 of the month. At the end of month all the penalty amount is equally distributed among the top on-time comers. It has brought our late coming down by almost 80%

Dear Friend,
Time & Money is an important factor for every organisation. A systematic and well managed company always consider this two things very consciously. So late coming is not accepted frequently for any designation , level or grade of Employees. You should refer to HR Policy in which rules & regulations of companies must have mentioned. The rule is if there is continuous three days coming late to office One day basic salary is deducted. Accordingly the system should automatically update the late comers.
