Gentlemen,
In my company, the attrition formula is based on the preceding 12 month joinees and leftees:
Example:
Opening Manpower always to be in April. Attrition for the month of Nov 2009 to be calculated as follows:
For example:
OM in April 09 : 50
No. of employees left in 12 months from Dec 08 to Nov 09 divided by Opening Manpower + Joinees from Dec 08 to Nov 09.
18 / (50 + 26) * 100 = 24% (Attrition in Nov 09)
