Dear Seniors
I am a student of HR doing my summer internship at a steel concern which is essentially in the nascent project stage.
My project is formulating HR policies and procedures. This shall include:
1)recruitment and selection
2)compensation and benefits broadbanding
3)performance management systems
and more shall be added in time.
I need to develop an organizational structure for the same that would be implemented at later stages.
This should be a comprehensive organization structure covering all the functionalities and departments.
It will help me frame the compensation and benefits policy, since the grades and broadbands would be clearer. It will also help me in deciding what type of vacancies will arise in due course of time.
Please give me some direction.
Thanking you

Dear Mr.Gafoor,
I have sympathy with you. But what is fun in studying in such education institute like "Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies" which do not provide any education on this subject that what is methodoloy shall be adopted inorder to complete projects assignment. When we studied in University we were provided detail knowledge on different kind of research methodologies and application of such methodologies to complete projects during internship. But this seems to be missing here.
If you cannot do this simple projects means you have no basic knowledge of HR Function in the Industry and totally blank.
We disappointed to see such mail from you who is studying in Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies who is proclaiming that they provide good education. But in reality their students are seeking help from outside this Institute because their educaton standard is not good.

Sir
I believe you have the wrong impression about me and my institute in general. We are, infact, being provided the best of guidance.
My query here was nothing more than an attempt to get more ideas and a newer outlook, in addition to the excellect advice by my peers and faculty, and reference to our curriculum.
You have been quick to judge and use strong words like "blank" and indicated towards a sub-optimum education standard. However, it does not escape my notice that although you gave non-constructive criticism, you did not offer any advice or direction to help me in the project.
I, too, am disappointed to see such a reply from an industry senior.
