Hi Shruti..
If you want to make a career as a Generalist HR then definitely you should move to Retail.. And in present scenario this is the fastest growing sector..
Till now this sector has acquire only approx 5%, its a large distance that has to be covered.. so there is a good future there..
Moreover apart from big Indian houses so many MNCs are planning to move their business in India.. so can say a wide scope is there in this field..
Wish U All The Best.

Hi Shruti,
I can understand that being a fresher you must be little bit scared, but its not a big deal to get entry there. And only thing you have to do is to apply your studies which you did while persuing MBA.
And after all they will definitely provide a Training, and after that i dont think you would get any difficulty to adopt with the system. Nobody is perfect only the continuous practices makes him/her perfect.
I worked with Pantaloons at Lucknow. That time my Zonal Head HR was from Mumbai, but now he has changed and moved to some other company.
You do one thing you place your CV with Pantaloons or any other retail company and to all leading consultancies along with your work ex, and lets see if you get a call for Interview give your best.
And be sure about yourself that you can be an HR with generalist profile too.
If needed any help feel free to revert.
Wish You All The Best....

Amit Seth.
