Dear All,
I just joined a manufacturing company as a HR - Head, at the time of joining they said you are eligible to design and implement the poilcies for admin department as its pvt. ltd firm 11 yrs old but there was HR dept before this.
They are just providing 12 leaves and 5 holidays (26 jan, 15 aug, 2 oct, diwali, holi).
9hrs * 6 days and all the employer centrism policies have been implemented immediately but they are not ready to even increase any leave, holiday, saturday half day/off.
please suggest how can i change their mind or take action against all these things or i just have an option to quite.

You can tell them a under .
1) the company , being a manufacturing one , is covered by the Factories Act.The Factories Act provides annual leave at teh rate of one day for every twenty days of service put in by an employee. Thus in acalender year the company has to give minimum 18 days of leave in a calender year and any violation of it will amount to breach of teh Act calling for action from the competent authorities unde rteh Act.
2) Apart from this, many states have Industrial Establishments National and Festival Holidays Acts which prescribe normally 4 national holidays and four festival holidays. Please verify whether there is any such Act(Delhi Act) is applicable to you. If so, you can draw the comapny's attention to it.

Hello Shweta,
In addition to what B.Saikumar mentioned [going against the laid-down Laws/Rules], suggest that you also do some research of other companies in your Sector/Domain that are doing better than your company--make a comparative chart of where your company is behind & where others are ahead.
Quite often, people [which, by corollary, means companies headed by such people] respond ONLY WHEN they see other similarly placed companies/people doing better with better policies.
This reminds me of a Quote: You can't do today's business with yesterday's methods & be in business tomorrow--though I doubt your employer would heed to this real fact all by themselves.
All the Best.
Rgds,
