Dear Sir
I had resigned from the services of company in Cochin wherein I had worked as Regional Head due to peer pressure from my ex-employer on frivolous grounds since April 2010 on August 31 3010. I am yet to get my settlement of dues
The CEO of Ex-Employer had called me up on 4/10/2010 Monday at 6.30 pm at my mobile 9633303512 from hyderabad and he informed the following.
1.He wont pay a paise towards single settlement on the following grounds and he made all baseless and frivolous allegations
a] That I have poached his employees as per information given to him by his Branch Coordination team.(In the reality,I have'nt taken any of his staff to the organisation where I have joined--Totally frivolous and baseless statements)
b] That I have said wrong about his company to his clients that people have left the company.(Actual reality--When I had quit the company,I had requested all including their clients for a job on the count that at the age of 43,I am left with no where and did'nt say anything negatives about company and again this is a baseless charges)
c] That he using his powers and strength and contacts will ensure that I am out of the new assignment and will also ensure that I dont get a job anywhere.
d] That one of his branch coordination team officials will be in cochin and that I will have to meet them and until its proved that I dont interact with any of past/present employees,he wont release a single paise of settlement /relieving letter etc . He may extend this as a part of monitoring my movement till 6 months i.e,April 2011.
e]That I am not supposed to complain to any one in Corporate office or branch on this also about the call.
He has'nt given anything in writing inspite of my repeated mails to him. Post my resignation mail,he had informed that three months will be paid as a part of severance from the company immediately
I responded that I dont need any of his staff and that I am into a different line of business and I am totally out of the interactions with his staff and also begged him to clear my settlement inview of financial problems at home, this be released immediately for which he was threatening of dire consequences.
Please advise me how to come out of this. I am mentally tortured day by day and dont have a peace of mind either..I would be really grateful and obliged.
My hard earned money is all blocked for nothing and I am really mentally tortured.
Regards

Dear ramum2008
Such instances are becoming very common day by day. Corporate-bullies are now found in almost every company who have quite recently registered themselves as companies from their proprietary outfit, but unable to shed their 'small time business'-mindset.
Warm regards.

Hello Ramachandran,

Raj Kumar is right in many ways--like the saying goes:living in a palace by quirk of fate, but mindset being that of a hut dweller.

Looking at your situation in another way, you are feeling 'mentally tortured' for only ONE reason: YOU ARE ALLOWING it to effect you. Once you decide otherwise, you will notice the difference.

I know letting-go of the hard-earned money is TOUGH, but suggest try it. You will see a whole change in your 'mental peace of mind'.

What the others do or don't do ISN'T IN YOUR HANDS. What's in your hands & control is YOUR RESPONSES to what others do or what happens outside your control. Pl try to learn to "let-go" and respond in a calibrated way.

Coming to the present situation, suggest let-go of what your ex-employer did & begin to focus on your present job.

Also, suggest you to put in writing thru a mail to your ex-employer what all he said--not so much as to complain or to expect that something would come out of it in your favour, but to ensure that if & when your ex-employer tries to put his threats into effect, you would have something to fall back--don't expect any replies from him, since he will not reply at all.

In a single line, just forget about this & get-on with your life. Unfortunately or fortunately, life/nature has a way of getting back: Like the Bible says--As you sow, so you reap [just see around you & what we have been seeing in the media in the recent past & you will know what I mean]. If you really have financial problems for which you have been hoping against hope about this money, suggest look for other ways to handle the situation.

All the Best.

Dear
There are so many people who are good talkers and they can bully around exerting their influence through the aggressive "talk" of your CEO .But they are taken aback when something is down in writing and they "fear" to sign anything .For such folks you should write your thoughts instead of indulging them in conversation.
Send him a letter by Registered post and demand his response in writing duly signed by him ,your F &F will come through.
Sometimes oral allegations are made out of the blue to delay and avoid F & F.

Well said sir,you are absolutely correct. I had sent a letter to Vice President HRD Hyderabad. In my case,I am mentally worried as I had been with the company for the past 15.8 years and the company is Karvy Computershare Pvt Ltd and the amount inclusive of gratuity should come to Rs.3 lakhs.
