Dear all,

This forum is turning out to be a blessing to all of us HR people and it's getting better day by day. Thanks to all members.

I need all your help. Our company has constituted an EWC (Employee Welfare Committee) recently, and we need to look into various welfare schemes, cultural activities, sports, get-togethers, etc. The first step is to collect employee suggestions and then assess the feasibility of the suggestions.

Can someone help me by suggesting:
(a) the best way to collect employee suggestions (we have three branches in Bangalore) like questionnaires, etc.
(b) What are the innovative schemes that can enrich the work environment and improve employee participation in the workplace.

Please help.

Regards,
Sridhar

Hi Sridhar,

Responding to your query, I am Gourisankar, Assistant Professor for HR OB.

The best way to collect employee suggestions is:
1. Designing a questionnaire.
2. Opinion pool.
3. Asking all the employees to give their drafts on recommendations and suggestions to make the event successful.
4. Announcing prizes and schemes for the best suggestions.
5. Asking a few members to design the program framework and encourage the best respondents with some rewards.
6. Asking for suggestions from the family members and wards of a few employees.
7. Forming a committee or opinion pool for the above-cited program.

Best regards,
