Dear,

One of our staff members has undergone MTP (Medical Termination of Pregnancy). She is not covered under ESIC. So, under Maternity Rules, what is she eligible for? She has been with us for the past year and has one child. She has taken only three days of leave, and her medical expenses have amounted to around $4000. She was hospitalized for only half a day.

Under Maternity rules, what should the company pay her? Please guide me.

Dear Salian,

I am enclosing a file which will be helpful to you. You may go through any labor law book which will be helpful to understand the thing. Note: Even unmarried pregnant women are entitled to get benefits as per the Act.

Hi Siddhu,

That was a good job! 😄 Well, like other states such as UP and Andhra Pradesh, has Maharashtra also accepted the act for domestic women employees in factories and plantations?

Waiting for your reply.
