Dear Seniors,

May we implement the following in our company policy?

"Any leave taken as a prefix to the 2nd or 4th Saturday will result in that Saturday being considered as a leave day. If leave is taken on the Monday following the 2nd or 4th Saturday, it will be counted as a 3-day leave."

Clarification: Leave taken on Friday will be counted as a 2-day leave. Leave taken on Monday will be counted as a 3-day leave.

Anticipating a positive response.

Thank you with regards,

You cannot implement a leave rule like that mentioned. Generally, suffixes and prefixes are not counted as leaves. The rule in this regard in the Factories Act also will not support you. Even holidays or Sundays intervening two CLs are also to be ignored. Certainly, intervening holidays in a stretch of EL or LOP shall be taken as leave.

Dear Seniors,

I am facing a problem wherein employees are frequently taking leave on specific days citing general issues. Furthermore, I am responsible for monitoring the total manpower hours for our company.

Please advise on strategies to minimize this type of absenteeism.

Thank you, seniors.
