Hi,

I joined a company last month with 3 years of experience, but now I have received an offer letter from a new company. I have already received my salary for last month. I now wish to join the new company; however, my current company has a 2-month notice period. The new company is willing to accept me without a relieving letter and is not considering my last month of experience. I have accepted the offer letter from the new company without informing my current employer. Could you please advise if this decision could potentially create problems in the future?

Thank you.

Hello,

Are you in HR?

This is not a good practice. We can't predict; you alone should take a decision. It depends on so many factors. What is the size of the company? What is its reputation? If a company says that they are not worried about relieving orders from the previous company, then I would question their HR practices and what growth they can offer you.

Think and then act.

Dear Muthumani,

What you have done is definitely not right, whatever the circumstances. It is a question of trust. Tomorrow, what is the guarantee that you wouldn't do the same to your new employers? Think for yourself and then only decide. Haste makes waste.

Dear friend, It is advisable to inform the present employer through resignation letter and get relief before joining new company. regards

Hi,

I recently joined a new company. I have a problem with my last employer. At the time of relieving, they issued me three letters: an experience letter, a final settlement letter, and a relieving policy letter (all on the company's letterhead). According to the relieving policy, I am not supposed to contact or work directly or indirectly with clients (without any timeline specified like up to 3/6/12 months).

The issue arises because my previous company's client is also doing business with my new employer, who wants me to work with them due to my experience. I have submitted all my letters to my new employer, and they are aware of the situation.

I would like to know if there are any legal implications in this scenario that could affect me.

Thanks,
Kavita
