Hi, gratuity should not be part of the gross salary but can be included in the cost-to-company (CTC), which is outside the gross salary structure. Importantly, no amount should be deducted from the employee's salary towards gratuity contribution. Nowadays, many employers include the company's contribution to PF/ESI in the CTC.
