Hello, everyone, this is Leo Steavart, HR Generalist from a startup company in Hyderabad.

I am facing a few challenges in the recruitment process for closing the following positions:

1. Senior Director of Marketing
2. Senior Team Leaders
3. Senior Marketing Heads
4. Senior President
5. Senior Vice President

The main challenge in this recruitment is that I should recruit them through social media. I also need the above-mentioned candidates who can work on a commission-based structure. There is no fixed salary, no PF, no ESI, no HRA, and no special allowances, only commission-based pay for the above-mentioned positions. This is a requirement in Hyderabad for a Real Estate company.

Kindly suggest some ways to help me close these positions or any other suggestions.

If you need people with good caliber, a driving attitude, etc., you should offer good salaries, incentives, and perquisites. Job security is another important point. If you only offer commission, you can manage the show by seeking the help of some agents, not by employing professionally qualified and experienced individuals. Therefore, change it to fixed remuneration or make it at least 60% fixed and 40% variable. Only then can you attract good candidates.

Hey Leo,

I could completely understand your issue; it's difficult to rope in marketing folks. The best part is you have the option to hire on a commission basis.

Try via Telegram communities/LinkedIn groups/social media; consistent efforts may result in the best outcome. For me, Telegram worked better.

Thanks,
Swathy

I seriously doubt that the kind of persons you are looking for (obviously senior and with experience) will bother to respond to you even when you are offering only commission and no salary.

If they wanted to work on pure commission in real estate, they would be brokers and not bother to work with a company and follow its rules, as well as be dependent on the efficiency or business model of someone else.

  • Hi Leo, It appears you are looking at some sort of gig workers. Many seniors have given their suggestions that are most suited to your requirements. I also wish to suggest a package that includes a combination of fixed remuneration plus commission or incentives commensurate with their achievements against set goals/targets. This is a workable option instead of only a commission basis. This approach will not only empower the team but also make them commit to the tasks and work according to the time and targets. Otherwise, relying solely on commission may lead them to indulge in doing things for others on the side, which could jeopardize the very purpose of planned recruitments and be detrimental to your business interests.

Hi, As mentioned by many seniors, to hire competent resource you need to invest in people, compensation and benefits and alternative to this is only freelancers with little or not tied up commitment.

    Hi Leo Steavart,

    1. You may post an ad on Indeed.com for free of cost.
    2. Post an ad on Facebook, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp.

Try to reach out to retired persons, freelancers, etc., from your industry; they may be ready to work on a commission basis.

    All the best!
