Sir, please clarify: A person who retired on 31-03-2024 after 15 years of service from a private limited company is eligible for a 2023-24 FY bonus as per the law (Bonus Act). If the employer refuses to give it, what is the next procedure?

If he was under the bonus brackets of a salary of not more than Rs 21,000 for the year 2023-24, or if his conditions of service provide for the payment of a bonus, and he had worked for at least 30 days in 2023-24, he should be paid the bonus now. He cannot be refused the bonus just on the ground that he is not in service now. If the bonus is not paid, he can approach the labor officer.
