Hi there, my last working day in the first organization was August 21st, and I joined a different second organization on August 17th. When I discussed these details with HR, they mentioned it was a minor issue that would not impact my ability to join them. I worked in the second organization for about six months before resigning.

Currently, I have received multiple job offers, but they are being rejected due to the overlap in dates from my past two organizations. No organization seems willing to accept me. I am wondering if there are any possibilities for me to secure a job, or if this situation marks the end of my career.

Thank you.

I am a little confused here. If your Last Working Day (LWD) with the first company was on the 21st of August, then how did you join the second company on the 17th of August? Did HR send you any formal email to join early?

In this case, you can either request your second company to update your experience letter where the Date of Joining (DOJ) should be after the 21st. However, this may impact your Full and Final (F&F) settlement. You can also talk to your first company.

Hi Mamta,

Thank you for your response.

Actually, I bought out my notice period in the first company and informed them about my second opportunity, but they set my Last Working Day (LWD) as August 21st. I also informed the second company of the situation, and they were still ready to onboard me before my LWD, saying it was okay. I was not aware of the future consequences and joined.

Changing Exit or Joining Dates

Is it possible to change my exit date from the first company or my joining date with the second company? Is there any joint declaration form?
