It is legal - 1 year commitment over mail only. I had been there for 6 months now I need to resign with serving 90 days notice period.

It is legal and binding on you when you have committed to serve for one year with a notice period of three months. A binding agreement could be there by means of an exchange of mail.

It is better to settle with the employer on your liability.

Need more clarity on your service conditions.

If you have a one-year contract with a 90-day termination clause for either party, then you can give your notice, serve the 90 days, and leave.

It depends on your employment agreement on how the exit clause is defined; in most cases, it says "X" days or an amount in lieu of it.

So, check with your HR.
