Hi, Yes one month notice / proper handing over of work is mandatory irrespective of the appointment terms. One can’t just vanish away from work place one fine morning.

Shop and Establishment Act Maharashtra

The Act does not specify any requirements for notice periods for resignation or termination of employment. Employers can prescribe notice periods in employment contracts as they deem fit. Hence, if a one-month notice period is mentioned in the appointment letter and has been accepted by both parties, then it should be honored.
