Dear team, I have served a 7-day notice period, but the previous employer has stated that I must serve a complete 1-month notice period because I was on a 3-month probation period. They have now sent me a legal notice to compensate for the gross salary of 21,000. However, I have not provided the details of my previous employer to my current employer. I am concerned about any potential issues that may arise and how to respond to the previous employer as I am unable to serve a 1-month notice period or pay the 21,000 gross salary. I am worried about the impact this situation may have on my career, especially regarding PF contributions, as my exit has been marked. If my current employer inquires about the legal notice, I have not shared my previous employer's details with them. I am seeking advice on how to handle this situation promptly as the previous employer is pressuring me through calls and mental harassment, demanding the payment or serving of the 1-month notice period. Please assist me as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Hi, what was your separation clause with your previous employer during the probation period? There's nothing to worry about. The maximum they can do is send you legal notices or communicate with your current employer if they find out about your dual employment, etc. Please try to resolve this after checking your previous appointment order.

But sir, I have left the previous employer and joined the next employer. Is there any issue if they have marked my exit in my PF, and will my current employer ask about the previous employer notice as I have not given the previous employer reference?

Since your previous employer has already marked your exit before you joined the new employer, there is no issue of PF overlap. Even though you have not informed your current employer of your previous stint, from your PF UID, they will be able to ascertain your employment history. Given that the previous employment was for a very limited period, the significance it holds remains to be seen. There isn't much the previous employer can do against you.
